I am a Senior Research Scientist (DR2) at INRIA, and project leader for the ARTIS research team, a team of INRIA Grenoble-Rhône-Alpes and LJK.
In the past, I've also been working in the following places:
- Cornell University (Sabbatical in 2007-2008)
- Abell Entertainment (consulting in 2006)
- LORIA/INRIA Lorraine (INRIA research scientist in 1997-2000)
- University of Cape Town (1996-1997, temp. lecturer)
- Visual Information Systems (Cape Town, 1996-1997)
Research
I have been working mostly
on illumination simulation. In the recent past, I have made some contributions on Frequency Analysis of Light
Transport.
I'm also working on better materials for rendering: whether it is sub-surface scattering, or the
smooth transition
between geometry and materials.
I am also working on smooth texture
advection, as well as real-time ray-tracing.
These research are funded in part by:
- The French National Research Agency (ANR), through the ATROCO project.
- INRIA International Relationships, through the Associate Team CIPRUS (with Cornell and MIT).
- The Competitivity Cluster Imaginove and the FUI, through the GENAC 2 and GARDEN projects.
- The Rhône-Alpes Région, through the LIMA project in the cluster ISLE.
Teaching
- Computer Graphics (practicals), Polytech (RICM4), Grenoble (2010-201x).
- Computer Graphics II / Rendering, M2 MOSIG, Grenoble (2008-201x).
- Création d'Images Virtuelles, DEA IVR, Grenoble (2001-2007).
- Images de Synthèse Animées, cours d'Option Majeure 2, École Polytechnique (2004-2007).
